This year’s graduates of the Double Diploma Program between the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) marked an important milestone in their academic journey by taking part in two graduation ceremonies: one at the IUS campus in Sarajevo and the other at ITU in Istanbul.
The IUS-ITU Double Diploma graduates of the Class of 2026 are Ali Tanović from Economy; Elmin Halilčević, Nadja Kadrić, Naida Smajlović, Armin Ribić, Erna Ramović and Ajša Hadžić from Architecture; and Aleyna Demir from Electronics and Communications Engineering.
Their achievement represents the successful completion of a demanding and valuable international academic path. Through the Double Diploma Program, students spend the first two years of their studies at IUS and the final two years at ITU, gaining the opportunity to study at two universities, experience two academic environments and live in two countries.
By completing this journey, these young graduates earned two diplomas and gained much more than academic qualifications. They developed independence, adaptability, intercultural understanding and professional confidence - qualities that will support them as they continue toward new academic, professional and personal goals.
Their two graduation ceremonies, held in Sarajevo and Istanbul, symbolically reflected the essence of the Double Diploma experience: a bridge between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Türkiye, between two respected universities, and between local education and international opportunity.
The success of this generation is also an encouragement for future students who wish to pursue an education that goes beyond borders. The IUS Double Diploma Program continues to offer students a unique opportunity to broaden their perspectives, strengthen their knowledge and prepare for careers in an increasingly connected world.
IUS proudly congratulates Ali Tanović, Elmin Halilčević, Nadja Kadrić, Naida Smajlović, Armin Ribić, Erna Ramović, Ajša Hadžić and Aleyna Demir on this outstanding achievement. Their dedication, courage and perseverance are a source of pride for their families, professors, mentors and the entire IUS community.
May this double celebration be the beginning of many new successes and meaningful opportunities ahead.
