The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) successfully organized the 5th IUS Job Fair 2026 on May 21, 2026, marking the biggest edition of the event so far and confirming its position as the largest university job fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bringing together more than 55 companies from various sectors, the fair once again turned the IUS campus into a vibrant meeting point for students, graduates, employers, institutions, and professionals.
The opening ceremony was made especially grand by the attendance of the Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Mr. Adnan Delić, who also addressed the audience, as well as the Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Mr. Nermin Muzur, whose presence gave additional support and significance to the event. The ceremony also featured remarks by the Rector of the International University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı, while the full-day Job Fair program continued across both university buildings through company presentations, workshops, networking, and direct meetings with employers.
The partners of the 5th IUS Job Fair 2026 were the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, MojPosao.ba, the largest recruitment agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ziraat Bank BiH. Their support further strengthened the event’s role as an important platform connecting higher education with the labor market and creating meaningful opportunities for students and graduates.
In his address, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı emphasized that the IUS Job Fair is much more than a career event; it is a space where students, young professionals, companies, and institutions come together to connect, learn, and build the future. He underlined that at IUS, education goes hand in hand with opportunity, innovation, and practical experience, and that employability, networking, and career development remain central to the University’s mission. He noted that the Job Fair reflects this vision by creating direct connections between students and employers and by opening doors to internships, jobs, mentorships, and long-term cooperation.
Following the Rector’s address, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić delivered his opening speech, in which he praised IUS for organizing such a large-scale and highly professional event. He emphasized that the University is creating real and meaningful opportunities for students to secure internships and employment by connecting them directly with a wide range of employers. He pointed out that IUS should serve as a model for other universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the way it organizes such events and actively supports students in their transition from education to the labor market.
Minister Delić also sent a strong and encouraging message to students, calling on them to use the opportunities available to them, to seek employment, and eventually to place their knowledge and skills in the service of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed that young people should not export their greatest value to other countries, but rather stay and contribute to building their own society. In this context, he described this as one of the most meaningful ways of showing patriotism — by gaining quality knowledge and using it in one’s own country.
In addition, the Minister commended the strong cooperation between IUS and the Ministry, particularly in light of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year, through which numerous IUS students have already had the opportunity to complete internships at the Ministry and gain first-hand experience of work in public institutions. He concluded by expressing full support for IUS and its future endeavors.
Throughout the day, students and graduates had the opportunity to meet directly with company representatives, learn more about current labor market trends, attend workshops, and explore internship and employment possibilities across multiple sectors. The event also featured a rich workshop program with sessions led by MojPosao.ba, BH Telecom, McCANN, Raiffeisen, Infobip, and RIS+NOMAD. These workshops were specifically designed to support the career development of students, offering practical insights, professional guidance, and valuable perspectives on the skills and expectations relevant to today’s job market.
With this year’s record scale, strong institutional support, and impressive participation from both the private and public sectors, the 5th IUS Job Fair 2026 once again demonstrated the International University of Sarajevo’s leading role in creating meaningful opportunities for students and graduates. The event stood as a powerful example of how a university can actively shape the future of its students — by opening doors, building partnerships, and turning academic excellence into real career pathways.
