The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is proud to highlight the remarkable success of its student, Tarik Okerić, who continues to achieve outstanding results in taekwondo through dedication, discipline, and consistent hard work.
For the 2026 season, Tarik has been selected as a member of the national team of the Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing the country in ITF taekwondo in the senior category up to -69 kg. This notable achievement reflects his exceptional commitment to sport and his continued growth as a high-performing athlete.
In addition to his role as a competitor, Tarik also makes an important contribution as a coach within the national team. His dedication and expertise were further recognized following the 2025 World Championships, where he won a bronze medal with his team. In recognition of his exceptional coaching results in 2025, he was also presented with a special plaque by the Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tarik’s journey of success continues with his next major challenge at the upcoming European Championship in Maribor, Slovenia, scheduled to take place from April 12 to 19, 2026. He will attend the championship together with three athletes whom he has been intensively preparing for this important international competition.
Reflecting on his journey, Tarik expressed sincere gratitude for the support he has received from his faculty, colleagues, and family, emphasizing how meaningful such encouragement has been in helping him pursue excellence both academically and athletically.
