Symposium on the Role of the Ahilik in the Balkans ended today

The awarding of the plaques given to the representatives of the International University of Sarajevo, Municipalities of Old Town and Ilidža, and the Medieval craftsmen officially promoted the Ahilik legacy, today at the Baščaršija Square.

Plaques were given to: the Rector of the International University of Sarajevo Prof. Dr. Özer Cınar, the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality Dr. Senaid Memić, the Mayor of the Old Town Municipality Mr. Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, Turkish Representative Agency for International Development and Cooperation (TIKA), the representative of association" Stari fijaker " in Ilidža and craftsmen: Mrs. Magbule Dervišagić, Mr. Adnan Kiso , Mr. Mithad Bećar, Mr. Avdija Palasika, Mr. Mehmed Huseinović Mr. Elsad Ćukrija, Mr. Lazović Ibrahim, Mr. Adnan Talić, Mr. Ismet Alibegović, Mr. Mensur Bektić, Mrs. Mila Smajović and Mr. Alijagić Nermin.

Assignment of the plaques was organized as part of the International Symposium "The Role of Social Ahilik in the establishment of peace in the Balkans."

The symposium was held at the International University of Sarajevo on September 19-20, 2012, with the aim of discussing ideas in the socio-economic and political life of our time based on Ahilik experience.

The symposium was organized by the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), the Trade University in Istanbul and the International Balkan University with the help of Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) and the Organization of Entrepreneurs and Artisans (ESDER) from Turkey.
