The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted the promotion of the book “100 Recipes for a Healthy Life – Practical Nutrition for Every Day” on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, bringing together guests interested in healthy living, practical nutrition, and everyday wellbeing.
Authored by Dr. Fatima Gondžo-Velić and Dr. Safija Softić-Namas, the publication offers a thoughtful and accessible approach to healthier eating through simple, affordable, and practical recipes designed for everyday life. The event was moderated by Mr. Adnan Rondić, who guided the conversation with the authors and opened space for discussion on the value of nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
During the promotion, the authors spoke about the inspiration behind the book and their desire to use their professional knowledge to create a publication that would be both useful and approachable for a wide audience. Combining medical expertise with advanced education in nutrition, they explained that the book was conceived as a practical guide for individuals and families seeking healthier everyday choices without complicated preparation or costly ingredients.
Dr. Safija Softić-Namas, a medical doctor specializing in emergency medicine and holder of a master’s degree in nutrition, and Dr. Fatima Gondžo-Velić, a medical doctor currently specializing in pediatrics and also holding a master’s degree in nutrition, emphasized the importance of balancing health, accessibility, and taste. They noted that the recipes were carefully developed and tested multiple times until the desired results were achieved.
A special focus of the book is placed on local food products, which the authors highlighted as highly nutritious, healthy, and well-suited to everyday use.
