Orientation Meeting for New IUS Staff

An orientation meeting for the new academic staff at the International University of Sarajevo was held on Thursday, September 29. This meeting was aimed at facilitating their adaptation to the new working environment, and getting the personnel acquainted with the IUS procedures, regulations and facilities. It was a convenient opportunity to get hands-on information on the teaching process regulations, guidelines and timeframes, Student Information System, IT infrastructure, important and useful documents, communication channels and various facilities at IUS.  

The meeting was initiated and moderated by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Research Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanita Karađuzovic-Hadžiabdić who welcomed the newcomers and wished them lots of success in their teaching endeavors at IUS. She also briefly presented the basic organizational structure of the University. The Vice-Rector was followed by the Human Resource Office Manager Mr. Haris Jamaković who talked about the legal duties and obligations and underlined the most important documents processed by the HR office. The next to address the attendees was the IT Center Director Mr. Enes Pivić who presented the IUS information technology and infrastructure and pledged support to the new staff regarding the opening of their accounts. A significant part of the orientation meeting was given to the presentation of the Student Information System (SIS). The guidelines and instructions on the registration and usage of SIS were given by the Students Affairs Office Manager Mrs. Sabiha Pepić-Inal. Vice-Rector for Academic Activities and Students’ Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Knezović concentrated on the teaching process regulations, the deadlines for the submission of exam results, syllabi, exam schedules, attendance and archiving. The final part of the orientation meeting was reserved for the presentation of the University Communications Office. The manager, Mrs. Velida Handžić-Mirica presented the IUS communication channels, its social media outlets as well as the procedures for proposing and organizing an event. In the end, the new staff were given a brief campus tour and were introduced to the most important facilities at the University.
