The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is proud to announce that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haris Gavranović won a prestigious “Google Faculty Research Award'' for 2014, in the amount of $ 48,000. Prof. Dr. Gavranović received the Award for research on optimizing the placement of applications in distributed data centers. Prof. Dr. Timothy Wood, distinguished Professor from the prestigious American “George Washington” University, was an associate on this project as well.
Prof. Dr. Haris Gavranović works as an associate professor at the International University of Sarajevo and he completed his primary and secondary education in Sarajevo. He continued his further education in Sarajevo, Tunisia, Milan and Grenoble and received his Ph.D. in Computer Science – in the area of Operational Research at the University Joseph Fourier in Grenoble.
