The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking an important step toward expanding educational and academic opportunities for Palestinian students.
The Memorandum was signed on September 28, 2026, at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Sarajevo by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı and H.E. Sylvia Abu Laban, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The signing ceremony was also attended by H.E. Emin Akseki, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives of the University.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to supporting Palestinian students through education and creating new opportunities for their academic development and future prospects.
For IUS, the partnership is fully aligned with the University’s mission to provide an international, inclusive, and supportive academic environment and to use education as a means of creating long-term opportunities for young people.
The Memorandum also represents an important step in strengthening institutional cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine and in developing initiatives that can contribute directly to the educational advancement of Palestinian students.
