IUS Life, Center for Lifelong Learning at IUS began with the organization of various courses for vocational education and training such as: courses for professional and personal training, vocational courses, foreign language courses, computer courses as well as various other professional seminars. All these have been organized with the goal of providing citizens the opportunity to gain certification in their area of interest or skills, training or obtaining additional qualifications and increasing competitiveness in the current labor market. Some of the courses offered will serve as start up for those students who wish to be retrained or change their profession.
One of the courses that IUS Life will soon organize is a course for the operating on CNC machines (Computer Numerical Control). The course will last 10 weeks and is open to students and professors of architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering as well as for all other interested citizens who want to learn and master the handling of CNC machines. Great interest in attending the course were expressed by employees of small and medium enterprises in BiH, especially from mechanical, electrical and wood-processing areas who want to train their workers to operate, manage and handle automatic programming with 5 - axial CNC machine. The training in CNC programming consists of theoretical and practical lessons, and after the training participants will receive a certificate which allows them professional handling of CNC machines.
The main objective of this course is to provide students with the possibility of training and work on most modern CNC technology using software applications such as SolidWorks and SolidCAM. Today when technology is developing at a breathtaking pace, those who want to survive in the chain must follow the latest developments of technology. The course will be run in special laboratories equipped with modern CNC machines, led by the Lab Manager, Mr. Adnan Škulj who completed his professional training in Germany and gained his knowledge and education in handling CNC machines.
