The President of Ibn Haldun University from Istanbul, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan paid a visit to the International University of Sarajevo on Friday, April 1, 2022. He was welcomed by the IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmed Ganić and Assistant Professor Muhammed Yasir Göz, Vice-Dean for Academic and Students Affairs of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The aim of the visit was to set the foundations for cooperation between the two universities. Upon the occasion, an agreement on academic and educational collaboration was signed. The memorandum is focused on enhancing cooperation in the area of higher education and research, notably in the segment of student exchange, visiting scholars and research collaboration.
The provisions of the agreement stipulate that student exchange will be conducted through student exchange programs such as Erasmus+ as well as other exchange opportunities available at the respective institutions, joint workshops, summer and winter school participation and other forms of student visits. The two institutions will also strive to establish joint degree programs, exchange researchers, jointly review scientific research, organize scientific conferences, workshops, forums and enable researchers to mutually benefit from the facilities and resources of both institutions.
