IUS Welcomes Youth VEFA Project Delegation to Strengthen International Youth Cooperation

IUS Welcomes Youth VEFA Project Delegation

On Monday, April 20, 2026, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) welcomed a delegation visiting the University within the framework of the Voluntary Entrepreneurial Youth Workers Mobility (Youth VEFA) project.

The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı, Rector of IUS. The visiting representatives included Mr. İdris Tankut, General Director of İlim Yayma Vakfı, Mr. Mehmet Ali, Expert in the Education and Culture Unit, and Mr. Harun Sami Çiftçi, Project Advisor. Their visit to IUS marked an important opportunity to present the project and discuss its broader contribution to youth development, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation.

Coordinated by İlim Yayma Vakfı (Foundation for the Dissemination of Knowledge), the Youth VEFA project is designed to bring together young civil society workers from Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina through a mobility-based initiative focused on learning, cooperation, and intercultural exchange.

The main aim of the project is to enable participants to exchange knowledge and experience in the fields of social entrepreneurship, equal opportunities, employment, and NGO activities, while developing new competencies and strengthening intercultural dialogue and networking.

The project includes a variety of activities, such as visits to associations, foundations, and academic centers in Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, field studies, experience-sharing sessions, presentations, and workshops. Through these activities, participants are given the opportunity to broaden their professional perspectives and gain practical insight into different approaches to youth work and civil society engagement.

Among the expected outcomes of the project are the enhancement of young people’s competencies in social entrepreneurship and volunteering, the expansion of their cultural perspectives, and the establishment of sustainable collaborations that continue beyond the duration of the project.

By hosting initiatives such as the Youth VEFA project visit, IUS continues to support meaningful international partnerships and activities that empower young people, encourage dialogue, and promote cooperation across borders.
