12th annual Architecture Students Congress ASK 2016

The 12th annual Architecture Students Congress ASK 2016 was held in May 12- 16th in Split, Croatia on topic of “Architecture in times of migrations.” Universities from Belgrade, Zagreb, Skopje, Nis, Novi Sad, Novi Pazar, Podgorica, Pristina, Kosovska Mitrovica, Banja Luka and two from Sarajevo participated in this event. Students had the opportunity to attend lectures of renowned architects, visit architectural tours under professional guidance, present their projects on the given topic and take part in a workshop.

A selected group of students from IUS Architecture Program, mentored by Sen. Assist. Tijana Tufek-Memišević, participated in the Congress with their project focused on forced migrations, presenting a contemporary and sustainable approach to migration camps with an urban and architectural design which steers to provide healthier, ecological, ephemeral but lucrative solution to current conditions within immigration camps. The project was recognized as outstanding, triggered discussion and was greeted with great interest and approval from the other participating Universities.
