The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly took part in this year’s Maker Faire Sarajevo, once again joining one of the region’s most inspiring gatherings dedicated to innovation, creativity, science, technology, and hands-on learning. Organized by FabLab BiH, Maker Faire Sarajevo 2026 brought together makers, educators, innovators, artists, engineers, and curious minds of all ages.
Representing IUS at the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adi Ćorović, Senior Assistant Muhamed Bisić, and Scholarship Assistant Ceyda Şimşek, who presented the work and academic potential of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS). Their presence highlighted IUS’s continued commitment to promoting student creativity, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world innovation.
At the IUS stand, visitors had the opportunity to explore architecture models and projects, as well as a broader selection of interdisciplinary work reflecting the diversity of FENS study programs. The presentation brought together ideas and projects from Architecture, Genetics and Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Software Engineering.
Through these exhibits, IUS demonstrated how engineering, science, design, and technology can come together to address contemporary challenges through creative and practical solutions. The participation also offered a valuable opportunity to present the University’s academic environment to a wider audience and to engage directly with students, families, young innovators, and technology enthusiasts attending the festival.
Maker Faire is internationally recognized as a celebration of invention, resourcefulness, and experimentation, and the Sarajevo edition continues to provide a vibrant platform for showcasing projects that connect education with creativity and community impact. In this dynamic setting, IUS once again affirmed its role as a university that encourages innovation, supports interdisciplinary collaboration, and inspires future generations to think, design, and create.
