From May 30 to June 1, 2026, the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted the workshop Advancing Organizational Science: An Introduction to Computational Process Theories, led by Dr. Goran Kuljanin from DePaul University, Chicago.
The workshop brought together PhD students, early-career researchers, and academics interested in advancing organizational research through computational approaches. Over three intensive days, participants explored the foundations of computational process theories, agent-based modeling, simulation techniques, and their application to contemporary organizational phenomena.
Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, software demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants gained practical insights into how computational methods can complement traditional organizational research and contribute to stronger theoretical development. The workshop also provided valuable opportunities for networking, research collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among scholars from different institutions and disciplines.
This initiative was supported by the Academy of Management Community Accelerator Program, highlighting the commitment of the International University of Sarajevo and the Faculty of Business and Administration to strengthening research capacity, methodological innovation, and international academic collaboration.
