On March 26, 2025, the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized a guest workshop as part of the Project Management course, led by Dr. Aida Akagić. The session welcomed Ms. Ajla Avdibašić, Mozaik ESG Solutions and Tech 4 Impact Fund coordinator at the Mozaik Foundation and IUS alumna.
During the session, Avdibašić delivered a comprehensive presentation on the mission and activities of the Mozaik Foundation, highlighting its role in addressing some of today’s most urgent global challenges - including the climate crisis, rising geopolitical tensions, and the implications of rapid technological progress. She emphasized the importance of aligning local initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and showcased the foundation’s ongoing programs and international partnerships in the areas of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and technological innovation.
Ms. Avdibašić also introduced funding opportunities available through the Mozaik Foundation, particularly those supporting innovative projects in the field of techno solutions. She explained the application process and encouraged students to take advantage of these resources to develop and implement their ideas.
The workshop included a practical group exercise focused on tackling food waste. Students collaborated in teams to create project proposals that applied project management principles to sustainable development challenges. After presenting their ideas, they received constructive feedback aimed at refining their concepts and improving the feasibility of their proposals.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Avdibašić underscored the critical role of young people in shaping a more sustainable future. She encouraged students to pursue their ideas with clarity, purpose, and a commitment to quality, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful project design and strong mentorship.
The collaboration between the IUS Faculty of Business and Administration and the Mozaik Foundation offered students a valuable opportunity to engage in real-world challenges and explore the intersection of social impact and technological advancement within a project-based learning environment.
