As part of IUS Show and Tell 2026, the IT programs organized sessions with high attendance and strong engagement, reflecting the growing interest in IT education and careers among prospective students.
The program followed a half-day agenda, starting with an introductory meeting where program coordinators met with participants to discuss the IT sector, career opportunities, and studying IT programs at the IUS. This session provided participants with an overview of the IT landscape and the academic opportunities available at IUS.
Following the introductory meeting, parallel seminar sessions were conducted by IT faculty members, offering participants exposure to cutting-edge topics:
Associate Prof. Dr. Ali Almisreb delivered a lecture titled “Introduction to Quantum Computing”, where he introduced participants to the fundamentals of quantum computing, highlighted the latest developments in computing technologies, and demonstrated concepts using a small quantum computer, making the session both informative and practical.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Amal Mersni presented “Introduction to Cybersecurity”, an interactive lecture covering essential cybersecurity concepts and the current state of cybersecurity in Europe. The lecture was delivered within the scope of the ECS4BIH Jean Monnet Project, contributing to awareness-raising and dissemination of European cybersecurity concepts and practices.
Associate Prof. Dr. Özge Büyükdağlı gave a lecture titled “Introduction to AI for Drone Detection”, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in defense systems, current drone threats, and the importance of early detection. As part of the NATO SPS project Ai4CUAV, practical results and real-world implementations were shared with participants by the project team, including students Asja Basović, Ismet Ozan Karabinar, Kayra Yılmaz, and Sebahattin Saral.
The sessions concluded with a highly interactive panel discussion titled “Why I Chose IT at IUS: Student & Alumni Perspectives.” The panel featured Hamza Adilović, Tea Dedić, Muhamed Matar, Nejira Subašić-Hodža, Ali Zaimović, and Mirza Selimović, moderated by Nedžmija Karić. Panelists shared personal experiences, academic journeys, and career insights, offering participants an authentic perspective on studying IT at IUS.
The IT sessions successfully combined academic content, real-world applications, and student experiences, making them a highlight of IUS Show and Tell 2026.
