The 13th International Workshop "Communication for the Future," organized by the Radio and Television Supreme Council of Turkiye (RTUK), is currently taking place in the cities of Sarajevo and Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina from October 9th to October 13th.
This workshop is a longstanding tradition, with RTUK organizing it for the 13th consecutive year. It is designed for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from various Turkish faculties, providing them with valuable experience in the field of audiovisual media. This year's workshop includes students from 13 different countries.
As a part of the workshop, an academic program focusing on "Media and Culture Building" was conducted today at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). The official opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including RTUK President Orhan Karadas, Vice President Ibrahim Uslu, Supreme Council members Nurullah Ozturk and Tuncay Keser, IUS Rector Ahmet Yıldırım, representatives from the Turkish Embassy, workshop participants, and other esteemed guests. Following introductory speeches, workshop participants delivered presentations on various specialized topics.
President Karadas reflected on the theme of this year's workshop, emphasizing the immense significance of media and culture in the contemporary world. He noted that we are currently living in an era dominated by media and communication.
Karadas mentioned, "This year, our workshop has attracted 26 students from 13 different countries." He highlighted that these participants will spend several days in Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only engaging in academic activities but also exploring the cultural and historical attractions of the region.
Participants in the workshop have already had the opportunity to visit Travnik, and today, they are set to discover some of Sarajevo's landmarks. In the upcoming days, their itinerary will include visits to Srebrenica and Mostar. The workshop will culminate in Mostar with the presentation of certificates to the participants.
