During his visit to Turkey, IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. B. Gültekin Çetiner met with Dr. Ömer Yıldız, CEO of Istanbul Ulaşım AŞ, one of the most successful engineering companies in Istanbul. Rector Çetiner informed Dr. Ömer Yıldız on the idea of organizing International Symposium on Intelligent and Manufacturing Systems at International University of Sarajevo. Dr. Yıldız welcomed the idea since Istanbul Ulaşim AŞ is one of the high-tech manufacturing companies that produces engineering products of LRT trains and gives all relevant services.
It was agreed that during the symposium Ulaşim AŞ will support the conference activities relevant to the fields of electrics, mechanics, computers and mechatronics. Ulaşim AŞ produced the first Turkish product of LRT train which is already in use by the Municipality of Istanbul. The support of Ulaşim AŞ will obviously facilitate the IMS symposium’s success.
