Green Campus, Green Future: IUS Community Unites for Tree-Planting Initiative

Green Campus, Green Future

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the IUS campus became greener with the addition of 44 new tree seedlings! This important initiative was jointly organized by the IUS Rectorate, the SDG Executive Committee, IUS Basketball Club “IUS Wolves”, SPIUS, and student clubs.

Led by the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, academic and administrative staff, along with students, joined forces to raise funds for 30 cherry trees, 4 sour cherry trees, and 10 linden trees. Their collective efforts aim to enhance campus greenery, leave a lasting impact, and contribute to sustainability.

Beyond its environmental significance, this initiative fostered a strong sense of community among participants, uniting them under a shared vision for a greener future. The newly planted trees will not only beautify the campus but also provide shade, cleaner air, and a welcoming atmosphere for future generations. With this project, IUS continues to lead by example in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
