Over a dynamic two-week span in late October and early November 2024, the IUS Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) hosted a series of engaging events, connecting students with industry experts and academic leaders. These guest lectures explored topics ranging from digital marketing and financial scams to halal certification, digital management strategies, and sustainable urban development, offering students valuable insights and practical applications.
On October 18, 2024, Dr. Hamza Smajić and Dr. Šejma Aydin organized a guest lecture on digital marketing, delivered by Mr. Karim Elemam. With his rich international experience in digital marketing, Mr. Elemam introduced students to current trends and practical examples, guiding them through the analysis of companies, their websites, and their digital marketing strategies. The session also explored future trends and addressed common misconceptions, providing students with a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
During this period, Dr. Admir Mešković organized two guest lectures. The first, on October 22, 2024, was part of the Financial Literacy course and focused on online financial scams. Mr. Haris Zogić shared strategies for identifying and avoiding scams, offering students practical tools to protect their financial and personal information. This knowledge is crucial in today’s digital world, helping students navigate everyday financial risks with greater confidence and awareness.
On October 30, 2024, as part of the Islamic Economics course, Dr. Mešković hosted a lecture featuring Dr. Damir Alihodžić, CEO of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification. Dr. Alihodžić provided an in-depth exploration of halal certification processes and standards, emphasizing their growing significance across industries and connecting academic theory with practical applications.
Dr. Aida Akagić-Hodžić also hosted two guest lectures during this period. On November 4, 2024, she organized a session on Digital Management Strategy as part of the E-Business course. Ms. Melisa Tolja-Mešić, a digital strategy expert, shared her expertise on digital transformation and real-time analytics. Using examples from companies such as Eko Pak and Lider, she demonstrated how businesses adapt their strategies in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
On November 6, 2024, Dr. Akagić-Hodžić, in collaboration with Dr. Senad Bušatlić, hosted a session as part of the Introduction to Management course. This lecture featured Mr. Derviš Hadžimuhamedović, Project Manager at Sarajevo’s City Service for Sustainable Development. Mr. Hadžimuhamedović introduced students to innovative city projects aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals, including reducing food waste and implementing "smart city" technologies. His presentation showcased Sarajevo’s vision for sustainability and the role of local government in fostering urban transformation.
