The CORE-ED Academy project brings together universities, professional organizations and experts from across Europe to strengthen higher education and juvenile justice through innovative approaches in correctional pedagogy.
Co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, the project focuses on developing new academic curricula, establishing regional research centers, strengthening professional competencies and promoting evidence-based, education-oriented interventions for children and young people in conflict with the law.
At the heart of the project is a shared commitment to improving the way future professionals are educated and prepared to work within juvenile justice systems. By connecting higher education institutions with professional practice, CORE-ED Academy aims to ensure that academic programs respond more closely to contemporary social needs and to the realities faced by practitioners in the field.
Recent project activities, including the kick-off conference, partner meeting and DACUM workshop, have laid the groundwork for closer international cooperation and future project implementation. These activities have enabled partners to exchange expertise, define key priorities and begin shaping professional profiles and curricula that reflect current challenges in juvenile justice.
Through this collaborative European initiative, CORE-ED Academy is helping build stronger links between research, education and professional practice, while contributing to more informed, humane and education-focused approaches to working with children and young people in conflict with the law.
