On Monday, July 13, 2026, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) welcomed participants of CoderDojo 2026, a free summer programming school for children and young people aged 13 to 17.
Organized by Bit Alliance, this valuable educational program is being implemented in Sarajevo, Zenica, Travnik and Mostar, across a total of eight locations. IUS is proud to once again be one of the host locations where young learners will have the opportunity to develop their digital skills, explore programming and discover the possibilities offered by the world of technology.
The opening of the program at IUS began with welcoming remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas, IUS Vice-Rector for Student Affairs. In his address, he expressed hope that participants would gain new knowledge and practical skills in programming, particularly in the areas of web development and Python, during the three-week program at IUS. He also introduced the student mentors who will guide and support participants throughout the upcoming weeks of learning.
Participants were also addressed by Mr. Damir Maglajlić, Executive Director of Bit Alliance. He emphasized that CoderDojo represents an excellent opportunity for young people, noting that even those who may not become programmers in the future will benefit from the knowledge, skills and experience gained through the program.
As the leading association of IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bit Alliance has been dedicated for years to strengthening the domestic IT industry, improving education and creating better opportunities for young talents.
Through CoderDojo 2026, participants will have the chance to learn, explore, create and connect with peers in an inspiring academic environment. IUS wishes all participants a successful start to the program, many new skills, valuable experiences and an enjoyable learning journey.
