The parliamentary simulation “Yugosphere 2017” took place on August 6 – 7 at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), and brought together youth from all around the Europe to discuss key Western Balkan and European issues amongst themselves.
The event was organized by the European Youth Parliament Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Institute for European Affairs in Belgrade, and it brought together more than 170 participants to Belgrade and Sarajevo from 3 to 10 August, 2017. It took place in several cities, in Belgrade and Kragujevac in Serbia, whilst in Sarajevo the IUS was host of the event for two days. Students worked individually, in groups and jointly, and had the chance to learn how to work in an international team, to express their opinions, to develop their negotiation skills, and to improve in public speaking.
The goals of the forum were to increase participants' knowledge of European cultural diversity, prepare them for more active engagement in society, contribute to the development of their personal skills and enable the creation of a forum for debate and reflection on current topics of European and Balkan politics.
