IUS Delegation Visits Türkiye to Strengthen Academic and Institutional Cooperation

Last week, representatives of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) paid an official visit to Türkiye with the aim of strengthening institutional cooperation, exploring new opportunities for collaboration, and further enhancing international partnerships.

The IUS delegation included Assoc. Prof. Muhammed Yasir Göz, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, and Mr. Senad Hodžić, Director of SEDEF Bosnia d.o.o. During their visit, they held a series of important meetings and institutional visits with representatives of prominent universities and organizations in Türkiye.

As part of the program, the delegation visited Boğaziçi University, where they met with Prof. Dr. Fatih Usluer, Vice-Rector, and discussed possibilities for Erasmus student exchange and future academic cooperation. They also visited Marmara University, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Ümit Süleyman Şehirli, Vice-Rector, and had the opportunity to tour the Faculty of Medicine laboratories. In addition, the delegation visited the University of Health Sciences, where they met with Prof. Dr. Ebru Kale, Vice-Rector, and toured its laboratory facilities, gaining further insight into the university’s academic and research capacities in the field of health sciences.

The visit also included Medipol University, where the delegation met with Prof. Dr. Bayram Şakul, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as Kartal Anadolu Imam Hatip High School, where they were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Özkan Öztürk, Principal, and visited the school’s Science Center. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss areas of mutual interest in education, research, and institutional development.

In addition to visits to higher education institutions, the delegation met with Mr. Taha Zahid Özdemir, Secretary General of the Union of Municipalities of the Turkish World and an IUS alumnus, as well as Mr. Önder Kul from BTM – Bilgiyi Ticarileştirme Merkezi (Knowledge Commercialization Center), where discussions focused on strengthening networks and exploring further opportunities for cooperation.

Through this visit, IUS once again reaffirmed its commitment to building strong international ties, fostering academic mobility, and developing meaningful partnerships that contribute to the advancement of education, research, and innovation.
