Yesterday, March 11, 2013 , in the Amphitheater of the International University of Sarajevo, the Government of the Republic of Turkey presented a program on granting scholarships to students who come from abroad.
The coordinator of the project at the Office for the citizens of the Republic of Turkey who live abroad and familial community with the Government of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Adem Günaydın, stressed that the Turkish government grants scholarships each year to most successful students.
Mr. Günaydın said that applicants can select the universities where they want to study, adding that Turkey has very good universities with a high quality educational program, and that some of the universities are among the top 100 universities in the world. He pointed out that this is also an opportunity to get to know new cultures and stated that the applicants who receive a scholarship have the option of applying for an Erasmus scholarship, if they want to study somewhere else in Europe.
He explained that last year approximately 1,000 students from B & H applied to study in Turkey, stating that this year they expect this number to increase. Applications are made online via website http://www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr or http://www.trscholarships.org.
With applicants who pass the final round an interview will be arranged in Sarajevo, after which a list with the names of those who were granted a scholarship will be announced. The Government of the Republic of Turkey has given scholarships to students in more than 150 countries, and each year they give approximately 13,000 scholarships to foreign students.
