On the invitation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Business Club from the Netherlands, IUS Rector Prof. Dr. B. Gültekin Çetiner and Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Muhamed Hadžiabdić visited Kingdom of Netherlands in the period from November 20th to 23rd 2009. There, they discussed the possibilities of joint cooperation between the BH Business Club and IUS. It was agreed that BH Business Club will promote IUS in The Netherlands and other countries of the Benelux region in a way that interested students will be able to receive all information about IUS enrollment through BH Business Club. Also, in the up coming period, Dutch students of Bosnian origins will arrive to IUS to do an internship, while BH Business Club will make possible for IUS students to do their internships in The Netherlands. During their visit, Rector and Vice-Rector participated in the official opening of the Office of Bosnian-Herzegovinian Business Club that was held on November 21st 2009 in the Dutch city of Rosendaal. The Office was officially opened by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to The Kingdom of Netherlands H. E. Miranda Sidran-Kamišalić, and some of the guests at the opening included Mr. Safet Halilović, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a number of Dutch and Turkish businessmen. During the opening ceremony, Rector had an opportunity to promote our University and offer youth of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin living in The Netherlands information about the study possibilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his speech, Rector mentioned IUS’s role in reversing the brain drain of Bosnian-Herzegovinian academicians and impact of IUS as an international environment in BiH.
Trip to The Netherlands, Rector and Vice-Rector also used to meet with the leaders of the large Turkish community in The Netherlands that amounts to half a million people, discussing with them the possible opportunities for collaboration in both educational and industrial area.
