Assistant Prof. Dr. Mersiha Jusić, faculty member of the Psychology (PSY) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), participated in the international conference “Education and Contemporary Challenges 2 – Science in Service of Practice,” held on June 10, 2026, in Zenica.
During the conference, Dr. Jusić presented her study titled “AI as a Source of Social Support for Youth: A Scoping Review,” addressing a highly relevant topic at the intersection of psychology, youth mental health, and emerging technologies. Her research explores the potential role of artificial intelligence as a form of social support for young people, while also contributing to broader academic discussions on how digital tools may influence wellbeing, communication, and access to support in contemporary society.
The study was awarded a Recognition for Scientific Excellence, acknowledging its contemporary relevance, interdisciplinary approach, and valuable contribution to understanding new forms of mental health support for youth. This recognition further highlights the importance of research that connects scientific inquiry with real-life challenges and practical needs.
Dr. Jusić’s achievement represents another important contribution to the visibility and academic development of the Psychology study program at IUS.
