Sarajevo, May 21st
On May 21st, Turkish Minister of Interior, Mr. Besir Atalay, paid an official state-visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina. He attended Turkey-Bosnia Herzegovina Joint Economic Commision Meeting where he met Bosnian Foreign Trade and Foreign Relations Minister Mladen Zirojević and signed a Joint Economic Commission protocol. Mr. Atalay also met the President Haris Silajdžić and a group of Turkish businessmen.
Although the Minister had an intensive program, he visited IUS too. Mr. Atalay was received in the Rector's Office by the Rector Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Tacgin and the Deans. After the meeting Mr. Atalay gave a speech to students and staff in IUS Conference Hall. In his speech he articulated bilateral trade relations between Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina and stated that the officials of both countries were exerting efforts to improve such relations.
Mr. Atalay stressed the importance of a quality education and in this regard the significance of IUS as an international university.
