STUDY PROGRAM ACCREDIATION IN BIH – What models does HEA take into consideration?

A meeting between Assistant Director of Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance in BiH (HEA) Assisitant Prof. Dr. Benjamin Muhamedbegović and IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım was held in the Rectorate of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on  October 1, 2021.

The focus of the meeting was on accreditation models of study programs HEA is currently considering which could be not only applicable, but also acceptable for all higher education institutions in BiH. The Rector offered his full support to the presented proposals and underlined the fact that IUS has successfully completed two cycles of national institutional accreditation. He also emphasized that several IUS study programs have valid international accreditation issued by the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria), which secured IUS’ presence in DEQAR European database - Database of External Quality Assurance Results https://www.eqar.eu/qa-results/search/by-institution.

The outcome of the meeting about study program accreditation in BiH accented the need for regular communication and exchange of opinion on all levels with relevant stakeholders considering that the best interests of the students should always come first.
