As part of continuation of successful international cooperation of the IUS with numerous international institutions, representatives of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan in BiH and ADA University visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu with his associates, Vice Rectors, Deans and professors welcomed distinguished guests in the Rectorate. On behalf of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the meeting was attended by Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Republic of Azerbaijan in BiH, Ismayil Jafarov (charge d'affaires) and Third Secretary in Consular Affairs, Aslan Jafarli. Besides the representatives of the Embassy, on behalf of ADA University, the meeting was attended by Director of Graduate Admissions, School of Business at ADA University in Azerbaijan, Mrs. Gunay Ziyadova and her colleague, Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Mrs. Firuza Aliyeva.
During the meeting, IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu particularly emphasized the importance of cooperation between these two friendly countries and closer cooperation at international level. The Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Azerbaijan in BiH, Ismayil Jafarov conveyed Azerbaijan's interest to invest in BiH, emphasizing the satisfaction of today's meeting. He pointed out that in the future relations between the two friendly countries, he hopes to further develop the ties on cultural, educational and economical level. Director Ziyadova emphasized during the meeting that there is a very strong link between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and said that she is delighted to be at the University. After the meeting, the delegation presented information about the ADA University in the Senate room.
''ADA University is established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in 2006. When founded, the main objective was to educate students in the field of diplomacy and international relations. Since 2006, ADA University offers four faculties: School of Public and International Affairs, School of Humanities and Sciences, School of Business and School of Engineering and Information Technologies'' - said Ziyadova. After completing the presentation on ADA University, IUS Rector Oğurlu and his associates briefly introduced the current activities and success of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), and showed the delegation a new promotional video of the IUS.
