The lecture on "The Basics of the B&H Constitution and Reform Efforts to Date" was held on May 22nd, 2013 at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). The lecture was given by Dr. Valery Perry, an expert on Public International Law and Policy.
The aim of the lecture was to learn about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a focus on the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the constitutional changes.
Dr. Valery Perry spoke about the present constitution, its grounds and the attempts of previous reforms. She also emphasized the role of the non-governmental organizations (NGO's) in the political life of the country. Particular attention is turned to the official procedure of changing the Constitution.
In addition, Dr. Perry advised that the B&H citizens should be more politically active and fight for their own rights. She also suggested that the citizens should not let the politicians do as they wish, and to try to change the situation in their country by their own efforts as well. Special attention should be given to developing awareness of people's political role in the country.
The lecture of Dr. Valery Perry was attended by IUS students and academic staff.
