Aida Zukić, a proud alumna of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), made history as the best student to graduate from the Faculty of Business and Administration in 2011, earning her BA in Management. Today, she stands at the helm of financial and operational leadership as the Chief Finance and Operations Officer at the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat — an intergovernmental organization dedicated to combating corruption across Southeastern Europe.

Reflecting on her journey, Aida credits much of her professional growth to the solid foundation she built at IUS. "The knowledge I gained was a fantastic starting point for my career," she shares. "I studied what I love, and that passion shaped me both personally and professionally."

Aida's career trajectory is a testament to hard work and seizing opportunities. Shortly after graduation, she secured her first job with an international organization while simultaneously pursuing her master’s degree. Her path eventually led her to RAI, where she began as a Finance and Administrative Officer, steadily rising through the ranks to her current leadership role.

Practical skills played a crucial role in Aida’s success. "The way the program at IUS was designed helped me develop essential work habits," she explains. "Presentations and hands-on exercises prepared me for real-world challenges." She also highlights the power of networking, recalling how a former IUS colleague informed her about the job opening at RAI.

Her advice to current students? "Choose a field that excites you, and don’t just rely on lectures. Get involved in public speaking, group projects, and take on responsibilities. Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are just as vital as academic knowledge."

Despite the demands of her career, Aida remains passionate about her work, driven by the impact of RAI's mission. As she looks ahead, she hopes to continue her professional growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina and perhaps embrace new challenges in larger international organizations.

Aida Zukić's remarkable journey is a shining example of where dedication, continuous learning, and perseverance can lead. IUS takes immense pride in celebrating her achievements, and we look forward to seeing where her ambition and drive take her next.
