The Genetics and Bioengineering (GBE) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized an interactive workshop as part of the IUS Winter School “Show and Tell” on Monday, January 12, 2026, welcoming high school students interested in life sciences and biotechnology.
Participants were warmly welcomed by the GBE academic staff, led by the Program Coordinator, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhamed Adilović. The workshop opened with an introductory presentation about IUS and the GBE program, highlighting the curriculum, study structure, and a wide range of academic opportunities available to students, including double diploma programs, minor studies, Erasmus exchange opportunities, research activities, and student clubs.
Following the presentation, students took part in a guided campus tour, during which they visited key university facilities such as classrooms, academic offices, and the university library, gaining a broader insight into student life at IUS.
The workshop concluded with a visit to the Research and Development Center (RDC), where participants toured the laboratories and had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by practicing a molecular biology technique, offering them a firsthand glimpse into research and practical work in genetics and bioengineering.
