FLW Hosts Insightful Lecture on Transitional Justice: A Case Study of Prijedor

Lecture on Transitional Justice

The Faculty of Law (FLW) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) recently held another impactful FLW Public Lecture titled "Transitional Justice and Bosnia and Herzegovina: A Case Study of Prijedor." The lecture was delivered by the distinguished Dr. David Pettigrew from Southern Connecticut State University.

In his thought-provoking presentation, Dr. Pettigrew examined the war crimes committed in Prijedor and the ongoing challenges victims face in preserving the memory of their suffering. The lecture highlighted the complexities surrounding memorialization and the broader implications for transitional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the lecture, an engaging Q&A session allowed students to explore further the topic, posing questions and gaining insights directly from one of the leading experts in the field.

This event is part of a series of lectures organized by FLW that focus on Transitional Justice, with each session exploring case studies from different regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative aims to shed light on the unique experiences of various cities and regions while fostering awareness of the obstacles to achieving transitional justice in the country.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Professor Pettigrew for his outstanding contribution to this meaningful discussion!
