Professor David Pettigrew Delivered a Public Lecture

As part of the Faculty of Law Public Lecture Series dedicated to the theme of Transitional Justice, the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) had the honor of hosting distinguished guest lecturer Professor Dr. David Pettigrew of Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, 17 March 2026.

Professor Pettigrew delivered a lecture titled “Genocide Denial: A Challenge to Transitional Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” offering a thoughtful and deeply relevant analysis of one of the most pressing issues in post-conflict societies. In his presentation, he shared insights from his research on the persistent problem of genocide denial, highlighting its impact on legal accountability, ongoing judicial processes, and the broader challenges it poses to meaningful memorialization in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The lecture provided students, academic staff, and attendees with an important opportunity to reflect on the relationship between truth, justice, and collective memory in the process of transitional justice.

The Faculty of Law extends its sincere gratitude to Professor Pettigrew for his valuable and inspiring contribution to the lecture series and looks forward to future opportunities for cooperation.
