The Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) at IUS had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Saswat Patra, Postdoctoral/Visiting Research Fellow at LCL, FDEF, for two insightful public lectures on April 7 and 10, 2025.
The first lecture, titled “Predicting/Identifying Credit Defaults Using Machine Learning,” was held as part of the MBA535 Business Analysis and Decision-Making course led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Šejma Aydin. Dr. Patra explored cutting-edge quantitative methods in finance, focusing on how machine learning algorithms are transforming credit risk assessment.
The second lecture, titled “Recommender Systems,” took place within the IBF407 Special Topics in Finance course, coordinated by Dr. Amra Selimović-Fijuljanin. The session delved into modern recommender system techniques, bridging academic theory with real-world financial market applications—an area Dr. Patra has extensively researched.
