A Charity Project Organized by ELS Instructors

On December 29, 2016, a small personal project of collecting recyclable paper at the IUS English Language School (ELS), which ELS Instructors collected throughout the year, was given a new direction when its organizers tried to decide what to do with the money acquired from 180kg of recycled paper.

After careful consideration, ELS Instructors Emina Krkalić and Alisa Salkić decided to direct the funds towards the ill children, in particular, those who need it the most: children fighting cancer. Instructor Alisa Salkić said: “People often feel bad if they do not participate in a charity project, but our principal idea is that the donations should be completely voluntary.” She also added that the response of the ELS collective was very positive.

The organizers of the project visited "Parental House" on 29 December, 2016, where the childeren fighting cancer are staying.

Alisa and Emina decided that at this time of the year, it would be most appropriate to make a New Year's gift for every child. They delivered gifts to children themselves and made sure that every child gets one. They are planning to continue with similar charity projects in future, and hope to inspire others.
