Embassy of Slovenia Welcomes IUS PSIR Students

Students from the IUS Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) visited the Embassy of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as part of their IR312 – Diplomacy course. The students were accompanied by their lecturer, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamza Preljević, Program Coordinator in the Department of Political Science and International Relations.

During the visit, H.E. Damjan Serdar, Ambassador of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, personally addressed the students, sharing insights into diplomatic relations between Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the practical realities of diplomatic service.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into diplomatic practice, with particular emphasis on bilateral cooperation, Slovenia’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration process, and the role of diplomacy in strengthening relations between the two countries.

As part of the IR312 – Diplomacy course, the visit aimed to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experience. It offered students an opportunity to learn more about the role of diplomatic missions, the responsibilities of ambassadors, and the challenges and opportunities associated with a career in diplomacy.

IUS sincerely thanks H.E. Damjan Serdar and the Embassy of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina for welcoming the students and providing them with this valuable learning opportunity.
