Amer Bukvić, CEO of Bosna Bank International and member of Board of Trustes of International University of Sarajevo (IUS), held a lecture for IUS students and professors on May 10, 2017.
Mr. Bukvić spoke about his life experiences, especially during the period of education, and the most important life lessons he learned during studies at some of the most prestigious universities including International Islamic University of Malaysia, International University of Japan, Oxford University and London School of Business.
Moreover, he gave his opinion on the importance of entrepreneurship, economic, political situation and the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
„We are at a very critical stage of understanding the importance of entrepreneurship. Young people who should be leaders and entreptreneurs are leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina. How we are able to find a leaders if the 2/3 of the population left the country during the last 150 years? We have to change our mentality in order to improve our overall situation. We have to sit with out neighbours and to discuss the same problems we face for the sake of finding solutions. We need European Union only for the security reasons, to prevent us from shooting at each other. Everything else we can accomplish together“, said Bukvić.
Mr. Bukvić emphasized the importance of IUS because of different view on education: „It is very important for us to have a university like IUS in Sarajevo, especially because of its international environment. I think that IUS is on the right way to become the elite university in the whole region.“
The lecture by Amer Bukvić was the latest in the series of talks organized by the Student Parliament of IUS.
