Ambassador of Italy gave a lecture at IUS

IUS IRO Office with International and Public Relations and Social and Political Sciences program organized 12th "Ambassador Talk" session on May 12, 2015. The lecture was held in the main amphitheater of the International University of Sarajevo and honorable invited guest speaker was Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Ruggero Corrias. His Excellency gave a lecture titled “Bilateral relations between Italy and BiH in the framework of the EU integration process".

Ambassador Corrias caught the attention of many students and academic staff starting his lecture with information that “Expo” Universal Expositions, opened on May 1st 2015 in Milan and will last for the next 6 months.

Using examples from life experience, Ambassador Corrias easily presented information about Europe and European market and the Member States. "65% of the world's direct investment was sent to Europe - it is the market on which you need to focus," said Ambassador Corrias while talking about economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also spoke about geopolitical similarities between Trieste and Sarajevo, as European link and one of cultural centers of the world.

The Ambassador also announced a concert of Milan‟s La Scala to be held in Sarajevo in July this year. This event celebrates 20 years of peace, not as an anniversary but also as a reminder of the last war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the end of the lecture, His Excellency gladly answered the questions of the audience and once again emphasized the importance of nurturing good political relations between the two friendly countries.
