On Thursday, April 5th 2016 world-renown researchers from the Faculty of Economics, Bilkent University, Ankara visited International University of Sarajevo. They were hosted by the Dean of FBA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, Bilkent University's Alumni, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Recai Aydin, Economy Program Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmed Ganić and Managment Program Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ognjen Riđić.
By this occasion, rector, Prof. Dr. Yucel Oğurlu and Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ali welcomed guests and exchanged the vision of the strengthened academic cooperation ahead. The guests also expressed their words of kind appreciation for the fact that the IUS already initiated the Academic Cooperation activities, after which the interesting Econometrics topic of Time Varying Parameter Estimation (and Adjustments under Integration) was initiated at the IUS Senate room.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Yigit and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirza Trokić went into interesting detail to lecture about their scientific contribution on the sub-topics, such as: Standard Regression Econometrics, Kalman Period(s) in reduction of the science's inherent inaccuracies, Spurious Regression, Functional Coefficient Predictive Regression, Standard Asymptotics theories and Five major aspects of their contribution to research. At the end, the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Yigit and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirza Trokić appreciated the question from the IUS academic staff, inquiring about the ways in which the Econometrics science and their advanced research can be improved to better predict and reduce the harmful effects of financial speculation and shot-term profit making orientation.
