A delegation comprising of the members of the International Muslim Scholars Solidarity Association (Uluslararası Müslüman Âlimler Dayanışma Derneği - UMAD) from Turkey visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) on Monday, August 29, 2022. The delegation was led by the UMAD president, Mr. Abdülvahap Ekinci. The delegation was welcomed by the IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım.
The International Muslim Scholars Solidarity Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 2015. The organization is located in Istanbul, Turkey. It is an umbrella organization aiming at strengthening the unity and solidarity of Islamic scholars, who had a great share in the establishment of great civilizations and were pioneers in science for many centuries. Its mission is to organize activities in Turkey and other countries in order to find solution to the problems of Muslims and all humanity in line with the main principles of Islam, and increase the competence of Islamic scholars to cooperate with other institutions and organizations working for a common purpose.
The guests had a meeting with the IUS Rector where they discussed current global trends related to economy, education and possibilities of establishing cooperation. Prof. Yıldırım presented IUS faculties and study programs as well as the academic and research facilities the University offers to its students and staff. The delegation pledged to foster closer ties with IUS in the near future.
