SE “Show and Tell” Workshop

The "Show and Tell" workshop organized by the Software Engineering (SE) study program on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) was a significant event that attracted high school students from across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event started with Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Büyükdağlı providing an overview of the SE program and presenting the opportunities available at IUS. This introductory session aimed to give students insights into the academic aspects and potential career paths within the field of software engineering.

Following the introduction, students participated in the first workshop, which focused on the trending topic of "Cloud Computing." This session was led by Mr. Hamza Sušić, a Bachelor’s student and President of the IUS Cloud Club, who is also recognized as a DevOps Engineer by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The workshop featured live demonstrations and hands-on activities to provide students with practical experience in the field of cloud computing.

After the initial session, students divided into two groups to attend parallel workshops. Mr. Kenan Mičivoda, a Master’s student and Scholarship Assistant, conducted a workshop titled "Let’s Code Together!" This session aimed to familiarize students with basic programming concepts, and participants collaborated to solve simple puzzles using programming. Simultaneously, Assistant Harun Hadžo, a Master's student at IUS, organized a workshop on Image Processing and Recognition. This session explored the various applications of image processing, including object detection, voice recognition, and instantaneous translation.
