Successful completion of the Symposium " Bosnia and Herzegovina – Culture of Remembrance: Twilight or New Awakening "

International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and the "Diogenes" pro culture magazine organized the I International Symposium "Bosnia and Herzegovina - Culture of Remembrance: Twilight or New Awakening" from April 12th to April 13th, 2014. The aim of the Symposium was to bring together experts from the fields of science, art, literature and philosophy from Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as from the countries of the region. Participants at the symposium spoke about the past and present of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Symposium was attended by numerous prominent guests and academicians from the country and abroad among which were: Dr. Nicolas Moll - independent researcher from Paris, Prof. Dr. Ismet Dizdarević from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Džemal Sokolović, from the Institute for strengthening the democracy in Konjic, and Dr. Lejla Panjeta from the Cultural Studies program of IUS.

A professor from Monash University of Melbourne, Dr. Hariz Halilović, spoke about the '’popular'’ memories, as opposed to '’estranged’' memories in the culture of memory and remembrance of the post-war Bosnia, while Dr. Srđan Puhalo from the organization for Prime Communication from Banja Luka, talked about how believers in BiH are ready for reconciliation.
