Strengthening Academic Ties: Iranian Embassy Delegation Visits IUS

On Wednesday, December 25, 2024 the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) had the honor of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The delegation was led by H.E. Abouzar Ebrahimi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, accompanied by Mr. Mohammad Hossein Ansari, Cultural Counsellor, and Ms. Maedeh Karimi, First Secretary.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, and Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Associate Prof. Muhammed Yasir Göz, MA.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the significant role of the International University of Sarajevo as a prominent academic institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its growing reputation globally. Special attention was given to the diverse structure of IUS students, including the presence of Iranian students, reflecting the university's international appeal.

Furthermore, the discussion highlighted the existing agreements between IUS and Iranian higher education institutions, emphasizing their importance in fostering academic collaboration. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to strengthening and expanding these partnerships in the future, focusing on joint research projects, academic exchanges, and cultural cooperation.

The visit underscored the mutual interest in deepening ties between the International University of Sarajevo and Iranian universities, paving the way for future collaboration that will benefit students, faculty, and researchers alike.
