Show and Tell Winter School 2026: Media and Communication (MAC)

Winter School 2026: Media and Communication

On Monday, January 14, 2026, the Media and Communication (MAC) program at the International University of Sarajevo successfully held its Show & Tell Winter School session, welcoming prospective students interested in media, journalism and communication.

The event opened with an introductory presentation by Assistant Prof. Nejira Mulahmetović, Media and Communication Program Coordinator, who introduced students to the MAC curriculum, interdisciplinary approach, study opportunities, and professional media facilities available at IUS. Emphasis was placed on the program’s goal of educating well-rounded media professionals, not only journalists, but also content creators, documentary and video authors, PR specialists and communication strategists, as well as professionals for new and digital media platforms. In a media landscape where boundaries between formats and roles are increasingly blurred, the MAC program prepares students to write, film, edit, think critically, and communicate responsibly.

Students then took part in an interactive workshop “Journalist for a Day”, led by Assistant Dino Cviko, where they worked in teams, practiced media literacy and verification skills, and experienced the fundamentals of responsible journalism in a dynamic and engaging way. Small window into what studying in our program looks like: practical, creative, team-oriented, and focused on the real world of media.

The session concluded with a guided tour of our media studios, offering participants a firsthand look at the professional environments where MAC students learn, create, and produce media content.

A great day of learning, creativity, and inspiration. Truly meaningful first step into the world of media and communication!
