SEDEF Foundation has realized another breakthrough in education
 

On December 22, 2016, a contract between the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo (SEDEF) and PI Student Center Sarajevo was signed at the IUS. The subject matter of the contract was renting of educational facilities that comprise six thousand meters square, with an aim to provide favorable learning environment for the first private elementary school Isa-beg Ishaković and other institutions.  

After the Signing Ceremony, Mr. Hasan Topaloğlu, the President of SEDEF Foundation, announced that the Foundation will move Isa Beg Ishaković Primary School to the new facilities. In addition, Mr. Topaloğlu announced that the Foundation will start with the realization of the secondary education project in September 2017. Mr. Topaloğlu emphasized that the International University of Sarajevo, which has been ranked as the best private university in Bosnia and Herzegovina, operates as a part of SEDEF foundation. The Foundation will strive to offer quality education at all stages of education by using successful practices and previous experience. Also, one of its aims is to be a symbol of the efforts on behalf of the Republic of Turkey, the efforts to improve and develop the education in B&H.

President Toplaoğlu stated: ''This is an addition to many successful projects of the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo, whose only purpose is education development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I would like to express my gratitude to the IUS management, starting from the IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Erkan Türe, to Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Gürsel, Advisor to and Representative of Rector Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ali, the Secretary General Mr. Armin Kerić, as well as Mr. Emir Kadrić, for the effort taken toward the realization of this project.”

A member of the Board of Trustees of Sarajevo Student Center Prof. Dr. Ifet Mahmutović expressed his satisfaction with the presence of SEDEF Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said: “As a Bosniak and a professor at the University of Sarajevo, am pleased that SEDEF foundation will contribute to the quality of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am pleased to have cooperated with Mr. Toplaoğlu and others who participated in this project, and that this institution will be named after the founder of Sarajevo.”

With the establishment of Isa-beg Ishaković secondary school, the Foundation for Education Development Sarajevo has completed the hierarchy of its educational system, from the nursery to the higher education stage.  In future, the Foundation plans to work on the establishment of secondary schools outside Sarajevo.
