International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly celebrates another outstanding success of our Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) student, Ada Avdagić, who recently represented both Bosnia and Herzegovina and IUS at two major international taekwondo competitions.

Ada first competed at the prestigious Grand Prix in Rome, Italy — one of the most important taekwondo tournaments in the world after the Olympic Games. Only athletes ranked among the top 32 in Olympic categories are eligible to take part, making Ada’s participation a remarkable achievement on its own.

Competing in the Women’s -57 kg Olympic category, Ada opened the tournament with a strong and exciting match against an Italian opponent. Although she narrowly lost 2–1 in rounds, she delivered a performance that showed confidence, determination, and the ability to compete among the world’s elite. The tournament carried a G6 ranking, making it one of the most valuable events for international ranking points.

Only two days later, Ada continued her journey at the President’s Cup G3 in Nuremberg, Germany, one of the strongest G3-level tournaments in Europe. The competition gathered more than 1,700 athletes from around the world, creating a highly competitive environment for all participants.

Ada once again showed exceptional strength and focus. She fought five matches, winning four of them with a convincing score of 2–0. One of the highlights of her performance was a victory against an Olympic medalist and multiple Grand Prix and Grand Slam champion — a result that makes her achievement even more impressive.

Ada’s dedication, discipline, and success are a true source of pride for IUS. Her achievements show what can be accomplished when talent, hard work, and determination come together. While pursuing her studies at IUS, Ada continues to represent her country and university with strength and dignity on the international sports stage.

We proudly congratulate Ada Avdagić on these remarkable results and wish her continued success in the competitions ahead.
