The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Ada Avdagić, a first-year student of Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) at the IUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at two prestigious international taekwondo events held in Wuxi, China, in late October and early November 2025.

At the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Championships (G-14), which took place from 24 to 30 October 2025, Ada achieved an impressive 17th place finish. With a record-breaking 991 competitors participating, this championship was recognized as one of the most competitive in the history of the sport, making her result even more significant.

Just a few days later, she continued her outstanding performance at the Wuxi 2025 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Challenge, held from 2 to 4 November 2025. Although the competition followed Olympic weight categories and she competed outside her usual division, Ada once again secured 17th place, showcasing strong form, strategic skill, and unwavering determination.

Following these two high-profile tournaments, her results were reflected in the official rankings, where she now proudly holds 8th place on the World Taekwondo Ranking List and 22nd place on the Olympic Ranking List — an achievement that further strengthens her position among the top athletes in the world. These new points have also brought her significantly closer to qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28), a goal she continues to pursue with dedication and faith.

IUS extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ada Avdagić for her outstanding representation of both her country and university on the global stage. Her determination, discipline, and success embody the IUS spirit of excellence, resilience, and international achievement.
