The Mayor of Istanbul Mr. Ekrem Imamoğlu paid a visit to the International University of Sarajevo on Monday, April 25, 2022. He was accompanied by a delegation lead by Dr. Ilhami Özcan Aygun, member of the Grand National Assembly of Republic of Turkey. The visit was organized by the Sarajevo City Mayor Dr. Benjamina Karić upon the occasion of marking the 25th anniversary of city twinning between Istanbul and Sarajevo.
Mayor Imamoğlu was welcomed by the IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım and was introduced to the University’s facilities and infrastructure. Sarajevo Mayor Dr. Karić proudly presented IUS to her counterpart as the best private university in BiH indicating that it serves as a bridge connecting the two cities and nations. Rector Yıldırım underlined that IUS has double-diploma programs with two prestigious universities from Istanbul: Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul University. Mayor Imamoğlu expressed his wishes for the cooperation between higher education institutions in the two cities to continue to develop in the future.”
